Brief Bio

Sanction IV was established by Merlin Leuenberger back in the year 2003. It started as a one-man project and covered mainly electronic sounds like Drum and Bass, Electronica and Ambient/Experimental. Not long after it all began; Merlin started gathering musicians coming from different styles in music. It was all about gaining experience and exchanging technologies, finding eachother.
In 2006 Merlin decided to concentrate on Trip hop and Electronica, and so it happened that Sanction IV expanded to a 5-headed band. Since that point they are working together on their first Album which will be released on 13th April 2007, followed by a series of concerts all over Switzerland and hopefully other EU countries. Further, Merlin is part of 'Spectral Paradisis', a LIVE chillout project formed by himself and Michel Haeusermann. They play live on stage with 2 Laptops and various other instrumentalists. A performance without any musical boundaries; each set is totally different from the other and absolutely improvised. Spectral Paradisis played on several concerts all over Switzerland and will be playing on the FullMoon Festival in Germany this summer. (www.myspace.com/spectralparadisis)
