The latest chapter from Depthcore stirred many wild interpretations from all of our members. From the political to the surreal, and even humorous, there is a full spectrum of work to make it a memorable release.

My take on Depthcore's latest chapter "Obselete" naturally flowed to the concept of humans as obsolete. I wanted strong and striking imagery , and chose an Aztec flavour to reflect this.

"As man steadily starts to become irrelevant, we return to archetypal Gods that once reigned upon the earth, whom we worshiped in the sky. Gods that we sacrificed other people to please."

With this story in mind I began searching for resources. I found a nice stock photo of a woman, that I mirrored to remove that element of being "human". The piece was to be fairly graphic and simple at this stage, but I realised it needed a more realistic environment, and more details.
